Building on achievement

The Health Data Charter Collaborative is an independent, non-aligned, community-of-interest dedicated to championing the implementation of person-centred health data architecture and the adoption of the Health Data Charter across our diverse public and private health systems. We operate inspired by the ‘Collective Impact Model’.

Where we came from

The Collaborative was formed to carry on the work of the Pan-Canadian Health Data Strategy and the Expert Advisory Group (EAG). The founders of the Collaborate were EAG members committed to bridging the gap between strategy and implementation where so many foundational initiatives stall.

Who we are

A group of committed professionals who are seeking to make a difference in the lives of people through health data.

How we work

We are in the incubation stage and are self-funded. Our structure has yet to be formalized. We aim to incorporate as a not-for-profit with a modest secretariate/administrative body that is advised and directed by a board or advisory council and that engages with diverse groups of participants who also help shape direction.

What we do

The real work of collaboration will be done by countless formal and informal groups across all our regions and stakeholders. Our role will be to spark and support that work. As we evolve, activities of the Collaborative may include:

  • Acting as a visible center-of-community and network builder for those individuals and organizations interested in, or committed, to implementation Person-Centred Health Data Architecture (PCHDA) and the principles of the Health Data Charter.

  • Of the Charter and of Person-Centred Health Data Architecture. Including the essential role that these plays in Person-Centred Health Systems. Incudes knowledge spread, social media, promotion, and promulgation of the Health Data Charter.

Socialization & Communication:

  • Throughout organizations, policies, projects, funding frameworks, evaluation frameworks, and infrastructure across our health systems through development of tools, education & training, and consulting services.

  • Alignment with the Charter and working in collaboration with, or advising, relevant certifying and administrative bodies.
